How have you gone about losing weight?

I am a member of Weight Watchers.  I attend the weekly meetings because I have found that knowing I will have to weigh in keeps me accountable through the week.  I track every single thing I eat on my iPhone through the WW app.  

Do you allow yourself "cheat" days?

I follow my WW plan daily.  I track everything that I eat.  If I go over my daily points allowance, I always make sure I either have points in my weekly bank or my activity bank to cover any extra points I consume.  I will say though that I rarely ever go over my daily points target.

How did you get started running?

I downloaded the "Ease Into 5K" app on my iPhone.  I followed their plan once I knew that I could physically run.  I would have to stop for lots of walk breaks at the beginning, but I increased the length that I would run each day until I was able to run a full mile without stopping.  Once I had achieved that, I increased my run by 0.25 miles every other time I would run.  Before long I was running a complete 5K without having to stop.  To keep myself in training mode, I signed up for a charitable 5K at least once a month.  By May 2011, I was able to run 5 miles without stopping.  I will have to ease back into the running once I am released by my doctor for exercise. I am signed up for my first 5K after Mya's birth at the end of February.  I have my runs for the year planned out already... once will be a half-marathon in October of this year.
